Basil Pesto/ Basil Pesto Chicken/ Basil Pesto Spaghetti

Lets start with what Pesto mean

Pesto – Pesto is a sauce originating in Genoa in the Liguria region of northern Italy, and traditionally consists of crushed garlic, basil, and European pine nuts blended with olive oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Fiore Sardo.

Basil Pesto

  • 2 Cups basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Olive oil
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts (or Walnuts or Peanuts)
  • 3 garlic cloves (Use according to your Taste)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Put basil leaves and pine nuts into the Mixer(Food Processor), mix it.
  2. Add the garlic, cheese and add olive oil for the mixing.
  3. Finally add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Grind all well.

Now That we are done with Basil Pesto what do we do with it? Lets make some Chicken. 🙂

Basil Pesto Chicken

  • Basil Pesto prepared Above
  • 200 gms of Chicken
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Cream
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Marinate the chicken with Basil Pesto and Cream for sometime (You can add some seasoning if you like experiment. I added Italian Seasoning abit, little lemon also would not harm.)
  2. Heat a Pan, add Olive Oil
  3. Put the gas on simmer, and Add Marinated Chicken.
  4. Take a Lip and put it on pan, let it Cook for sometime.( Check in middle to make sure you dont burn it completely. Little burnt would taste good. But make sure it does not dry.)
  5. If you have Oven, you can cook the Marinated Chicken on it.
  6. Add Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Note:- Serve it hot, if you let it cool down the creaminess and juiciness would be gone. 🙂

Basil Pesto Spaghetti

  • Basil Pesto prepared Above
  • 400-450 Grams of Spaghetti
  • Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Cream

Steps

  1. Heat water to a boil for spaghetti, add salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add Spaghetti and cook it done.
  2. Heat Pan add Cream and Basil Pesto mix them well, Add Spaghetti to the mix.
  3. You can add little bit of Spaghetti water.
  4. Cook them in low heat. Add Mix Herb Seasoning or any Seasoning to your taste.

Basil Mushroom with Creamy Spaghetti

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of Fresh Basil Leaves

  • 3 Cloves of Garlic (Add in some more if you like them)
  • 2-3 Green Chilies (Optional)
  • 1/2 Lemon, Juiced
  • 400-450 Grams of Spaghetti
  • 3 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • A small handful grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 a cup Fresh Cream
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Step 1

Heat water to a boil for the pasta, add salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add Spaghetti and cook it done.

Step 2

Take Basil, Garlic and Chilies (optional) Grind the Mix in food processer. Heat the pan with Olive Oil and add the mix, Cook for a minute and then add Mushroom. Stir the mixture well. And then add Salt, Freshly ground Pepper and Lemon. Cook till mushrooms are done.

Step 3

Heat Pan add Cream and Cheese mix them well, Add Spaghetti to the mix. You can add little bit of Spaghetti water. Cook them in low heat. Add Mix Herb Seasoning or any Seasoning to your taste.

Serve Creamy Spaghetti with Basil Mushroom.
