Best thing about cooking is that, there are no set of rules to go by, you make changes as you go. That is why I would just guide you how I make it, you can experiment it yourself.
Chicken Masala
Ingredients
Marination of Chicken
- Chicken
- Plain Curd/Yogurt
- Indian Chicken Masala / Garam Masala
- Paprika/Red Chili Powder
- Coriander Powder
- Turmeric Powder
- Ginger Garlic Paste
- Lemon
- Salt
Masala
- Onion Diced into small Cubes
- Green Chili
- Ginger Garlic Paste
- Chicken Masala /
- Oil
- Cream ( to make it creamy/give it rich taste)
Marination Steps
I normally try to marinate chicken for a day, if I m in hurry then One Hour is must. this helps chicken to soak in all the flavors. Here are the steps
Marinating Chicken
- Take Curd/Yogurt and Add all the Ingredients mentioned above, I understand I have not mentioned any Quantity here, because you can go with your own gut feeling here. I normally use enough Curd to immerse chicken in it.
- Add other spices according to your taste.
- I use little Ginger Garlic Paste, because sometime it overpowers rest of the dish.
- Lemon softens the meat and helps for better marination.
- Mixed everything with Chicken.
Making Masala
- Heat Oil on Pan
- Add chopped Onion, Green Chilies ( You could also Grind the Onion and Chili to paste and use it) and Ginger Garlic Paste
- Cook them until Onions are brown
- Add Chicken Masala & Salt
- Empty all the Marinated Chicken with Curd Mix.
- Let it cook for 15 mins in medium heat.
- Check chicken if it is cooked, leave it to cook for sometime if not cooked.
- Taste Chicken Masala, if you like add Cream to your taste
